UNIT 2 :                                I LIKE SCHOOL

SKILLS : LISTENING, SPEAKING & READING

TOOLS : OBSERVATION SHEDULE, ORAL QUESTIONS.

TECHNIQUES : OBSERVATION, ORAL QUESTIONAIRE

ACTIVITY : DRAWING THE PICTURE OF ONE’S OWN SCHOOL & NARRATING ABOUT IT.

INDICATORS : Child’s ability to

·         Listen to and understand the tonal variation in utterance.

·         Recognize the riming words and rhythm.

·         Speak with proper pronunciation.

·         Express ideas and feelings.

·         Read aloud the written words/sentences from the B.B.

 
UNIT 3 :                                A FRIEND FOR EVER

SKILLS :  SPEAKING & WRITING

TOOL : ROLE PLAY

TECHNIQUE: OBSERVATION

ACTIVITY : LOOKING AROUND THE SURROUNDINGS AND SPEAKING ABOUT ANY TREE HE/SHE SEES.

INDICATORS : Child’s ability to

·         Use correct words.

·         Speak in a complete sentence.

·         Express his/her ideas.

·         Write the words /sentences which he/she has spoken.

·         Use proper pattern of letters and punctuations wherever necessary.

ACTIVITY : COLLECT ANY PICTURE OR TOY OF ANY MEANS OF TRANSPORT AND SPEAK ABOUT IT.

·         Express its appreciation towards the toy.

·         Use proper form of words to frame sentences while speaking.

·         Put the tune and sing with rhythm.

TECHNIQUE : ORAL

ACTIVITY : COLLECTING THE PICTURES OF  DIFFERENT PROFESSION AND LISTING THEM.

·         pronounce the names of professions correctly.

·         speak a line or two about these professions.

·         appreciate and respect all the profession.

·         understand the importance of different profession.

TOOLS : LISTEN TO THE RHYMEs.

TECHNIQUE : ORAL

ACTIVITY : SINGING A RHYME RELATED TO THE CLOCK BY THE TEACHER(HICKORY DICKORY DOCK).

INDICATORS : Child’s ability to

·         listen to the rhyme and listing the rhyming words.

·         sing the rhyme with rhythm.

·         answer the question related to the rhyme.

 
UNIT 10 :                                              DON’T TELL

SKILLS :  SPEAKING & WRITING

TOOLS : WRITING A PASSAGE & PRESENTATION OF THE SAME (GROUP ACTIVITY).

TECHNIQUES : ORAL/WRITTEN

ACTIVITY : ASKING THE CHILD TO DISCUSS IN GROUP WHAT HE/SHE  WANTS TO BE  AND WRITE ABOUT IT.

INDICATORS : Child’s ability to

·         understand about his/her own qualities.

·         express freely about his/her desires.

·         write about himself/herself and  present it confidently.

·         order his/her feelings in proper sequences.

ACTIVITY : DISCUSSING ABOUT DIFFERENT TYPES OF FRUITS, WRITNG THE SAME AND PRESENTING IT (GROUP ACTIVITY).

UNIT 13 :                                              MR. SUN TAKES A HOLIDAY

TECHNIQUE : WRITTEN

ACTIVITY : USING THE CLUE WORDS , ASKING THE CHILDREN TO COMPLETE THE ESSAY (ESSAY WRITING).

·         frame correct  sentence.

·         put their ideas in written form.

·         writing in order.
